Jerome recently filed a number of class action lawsuits against, or relating to, companies in the IT industry, including Sony, Apple, IBM, and Gateway and is investigating potential class actions in the technology sector. Jerome specializes in complex commercial litigation, class actions and derivative suits in state and federal courts. He has represented shareholders in actions involving issues of securities fraud and corporate governance, anti-trust, consumer finance, advertising fraud and authors in royalty and intellectual property disputes with publishers.
Jerome worked in the Miami office of Boies, Schiller & Flexner representing shareholders in securities fraud class actions and litigating the groundbreaking intellectual software infringement case, SCO v. IBM.
Jerome has litigated nationwide class actions that include tens of millions of class members and resulted in settlements totaling more than $75 million.
As a founding member of his own firm in New York, Jerome was lead counsel in a number of nationwide class actions, including filing the first ever class action lawsuit against a book publisher.
Jerome's ability and expertise in handling these actions, including those involving complex multi-district ligitation or consolidated actions, has been recognized by both the judiciary as well as members of the bar, with the result that he has been frequently appointed class counsel and invited to serve on the litigation committees of several of the nation's most prominent class action matters.
Jerome has been featured in a broad range of media, including The New YorkTimes,The Wall Street Journal, Publisher's Weekly, and the B.B.C.
Jerome has also lectured on subjects relating to class action and consumer fraud litigation with the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Jerome received his B.A., cum laude, in Politics and History from Brandeis University in 1991. He attended law school at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and earned his J.D. in 1994. While in law school, he was a Samuel Belkin Scholar, editor of the Cardozo Studies in Lawand Literature and a member of the Cardozo Women's Law Journal.
